Monday again

Busy day, work, a trip to town, helped Rol with laminate flooring upstairs. Mmmm... looks good.
Then had to make those cookies for school. We put a few Halloween decorations up.
Jules is determined to be a ghost tomorrow. A real ghost he said, with a sheet and holes cut out for eyes. Whateverrrr?
It is mighty cute though.

Sunday at the LeBlancs

Pretty quiet day.
Hung around with the family, watched a movie, cooked a delicious turkey dinner, and had Tante MJ and N'oncle Steve over for supper. Roland joked that he figured it was likely time the newlywed Steven had a good meal.

Stormy Saturday

Windy eh? And we have a leaky window too.

Finally time to turn the clocks back. I've been looking forward to it as I hate to get up when it's dark outside. Lately I almost have to send a flashlight with the kids to take the bus. It will be a nice change. And the sun sets early, the nights are long, we all eat too much and pack on some winter pounds. And some of us females even let a winter coat grow.

We are mammals, that's for sure.

Mrs. LeBlanc, housewife

Today I was housewife for the day. Stayed home with the kids. I had great visions of all I could accomplish during my stay at home. Boy, did I learn a good lesson.

The lesson is this: putting on the TV is a big no-no. Well there's the Today show, who had Meatloaf peformoing ( after this commercial break)... so I had to stay and watch him perform (after Matt's numerous promises that he'd be on soon). And that was during the final minutes of the show. Then there is Kelly & Regis, and she would pick today to bring her gorgeous husband to host instead of Regis. Holy Smoke, I couldn't peel my eyes away, let alone get dressed, or risk missing anything by making beds. I did manage to run to the washer and toss in a quilt to wash. I even greeted the milkman in my silky pink nightgown ! A true housewife indeed !

Time was passing. So I put on last nights clothes (fresh undies though) and went grocery shopping. There I spent $100 and bought a poppy, and chatted with anyone who looked my way for 2 seconds or more. I even let someone go infront of me at the checkout, and I packed an older ladies groceries to help out the cashier. Then I checked out the dishes they had on display. Ramekin 7 oz, for $4.99. Nah, I decided I didn't need a collection of those.

By the time I got back I realized it was time to get dinner on, as I promised my hunter husband & kids a hot gourmet meal for dinner. Shoot, I forgot to buy onions and carrots. Those darn legionnaire ladies were selling the poppies in the produce isle, and I got distracted.

The day passed superfast but I did eventually manage to get the beds done, and even dusted. I never made that chocolate cake or those Halloween cookies though.

Whew, now tonight I am going to do one last thing before turning in for some rest, ... Brush my hair.

Trivia Thursday

Trivia Thursday... name kinda reminds me of something... Turkey Tuesday. Hmmm........

Halloween was the topic and we did "fair", I would say. Movies were a bit of a stumper since some of our team members are too chicken to watch horror movies, and are afraid of not sleeping well for months after. I remember watching exorcist and expecting my bed to move up and down. I never was one to worry much about what was hiding under my bed, but I was, (and still am on occasion) known to pull back the bedding to check for spiders.

Total number of spiders found in my sheets in my lifetime: 0

Zero. That's the same number of witches burned at the stakes in Salem's witch hunt. I knew the answer to that one tonight and won my first beer ticket.

Wednesday

I saw it today. Briefly, thank God. The first darn ugly snowflake of the season. It really frightened me. I stopped dead in my tracks and the kids came joyously running and skipping. " Look it's snow, mom !!!!"

Good Grief

It's not that I hate snow, I simply hate it on the road, the steps, & the parking lots ( especially the Co-op drain thing). Also hate it on vehicles, on my mittens, my hair, stuck in the screens I never removed in the fall, on boots & shoes, underneath boots & shoes, on the garage floor, under the cat's paws, on hand railings, stuck on my shovel, fallen in my boot, and on the 4 wheeler seat.

I like snow .... on pretty Christmas Cards, ceramic trees, on rooftops of miniature lighted xmas villages, and ( my favorite) ......... inside snow globes.

Thunder in the skies

We all heard it this morning, that big sizzle and tremendous boom. Even knocked my clock off the wall. For a few minutes I wished my hubby was home in bed. I looked over at Jules, and he was still in dream land. We don't usually get up, but I do hold my hubby's hand when it thunders. He thinks I'm funny. Maybe I am.

A Monday for Mom's

I watched Oprah today, all about mothers from different parts of the world. Amazing, they were. One mom who trekked up hill 10 miles with 200 lbs of beans on her back for 40 cents... Another proud mom with 40 adopted kids, all with HIV, was living in a something that makes our shed look like Le Chateau Laurier. I tell you we should all be counting our blessings instead of our investment money.
Regardless of who we are, where we live, and how we live, we mothers all have one thing in common with each other. We have children we love more than life itself, and we all want the same for our children. Love, a life without suffering, many fortunate chances, and for them to turn out to be good people.

Sunday on the Pond Road

Pretty quiet neighborhood today. Been doing chores and mowed the lawn. Never swore once. The mower was very cooperative. Neighbours quiet, no shovels going, mowers, or pellet guns.

The haunted village is on again tonite. It has been very popular and sold out as I understand. I had to resign my acting job at the last minute because of my sore back. Someone told me I was missed, but they managed OK with my replacement. Always nice to be missed.

I saw MJ's photos yesterday from the wedding. Very nice indeed.

Diane was here to borrow limes. Looking for round ones she said. Lucky her, I ran out of square ones. Hmmmm? Wonder what that lime could be for?

A bone cracking Friday

Today I went to the chiropractor, to get all fixed up. He noticed some muscles bunched up in my forearms.
Have you been doing anything different lately? he asked.
"Well", I answered. "I have been arm wrestling a bit lately."
Really? He replied as he took a seat, with a smile ear to ear. " Tell me about it."
I told him how on Thanksgiving and other family gatherings, the d'Entremont family likes to armwrestle.
That's very different", he commented.
"I know", I said, "some families get together, play the piano and sing.... We get together and armwrestle."
" Well" he said," some families get together and do cocaine. This is good, its physical activity for the entire family".

Then he gave me some armwrestling pointers,....... " for Christmas" he said.

Trivia Nite

A normal day, and a trivia nite. Finally enticed Roland to come along to see what I did every Thursday. He seemed to like it, and knew some answers, as I knew he would. 80's music for the first round. We did very good, placed 3rd for the night. Got stumped by a "random" question about Ronald McDonald's purple friend.... Remember his name? starts with a G.....

Hyper? Tension?

OK, I was very calm when I went to the doctor for a routine checkup. " We got to do something about this hypertension", he told me. "Really???" I told him, " I haven't even been pissed off yet today !" So he gave me a little pill, and told me to monitor my blood pressure. Soon the tension mounted with my 6 conversations with a pit bull at Yarmouth's OPD. Then Continuing Care has a frigging answering machine for every number you call. Where are all these people ??? And stop telling me the friggin hours of operation ??? Do I need to hear it 10 times! Then I get the sweetest voice on the phone. She's female, and I am imagining her.... dressed like cinderella, wearing glass slippers. And she is SO understanding as I pour out all my complaints to her. She's full of empathy... saying oh yes, oh my!, that's unfair, you did the right thing.....But she is new to the job and she has to get another pit bull to return my call.

Hypertension eh?

Happy Birthday Jules

Yeah, here I was 9 years ago. Proud as can be with my newest little son. I am still very proud, and still can't keep my eyes off him.

I thought it was a new parent thing.... how you can't stop looking at your new baby. But I guess it doesn't go away.

I am still amazed today at the beauty of the children I helped create. I study their faces, their smiles, and eyes, almost as if I need to memorize it all.

HappyBirthday to me!

Monday Mania

Monday again, I found my sneakers and dusted them off, and did get a little walk in as I promised myself I would this morning. The sneakers still work. I will also practice how to play dead in my spare time, cause if a bear comes out after me, that's my only hope for survival. Ain't no amount of adrenaline that can haul this butt to safety.

Speaking of size, tomorrow is the baby's 9th birthday. Already. I measured 5 feet at 8 months of pregnancy ( AND THAT IS NOT HEIGHT), yes, its around the waist. The little brute was breached and big. Roland wanted to measure me at 9 months, but I declined with a few chosen words.

Chilly Sunday at Golf Course

Golfed this afternoon and attended closing banquet. Had 1 under par with Maggie, Ned, Paula McQuinn. Played really good, felt like old times. Came home with a trophy for low net in Mother & Daughter tournament. A little chilly, had a bath afterwards and a tylenol to warm up.

Today I read "Married? You're in the minority....
Married couples, whose numbers have been declining for decades have finally slipped into a minority.
The American Community Survey, released this month by the Census Bureau, found that 49.7 per cent of households in 2005 were made up of married couples with and without children .. just shy of a majority and down from more than 52 per cent five years earlier."

I think marriage will soon have a renewal permit every 5 years. Another good way for the government to collect more money. I should write them a letter today.

I like marriage, it gets me a golf discount and my garbage out at the curb.

Rainy Saturday

Yeah it rained all day, went to Cake parade in support of new church windows, made two meals, scrapbooked a bit, and watched a movie. Sore boobs, bloated, constipated.... hmm, can only mean one thing....

Ah... TGIF

Friday it is. Nice.
Nanny babysat a bit while we took a quick run to Barrington to look at some flooring.
My new favorite song is Rod Stewart's "Have you ever seen the Rain". A CCR remake. Real nice job Rod.

Trivia Thursday

Trivia Nite tonight... I didn't have my regular team, but had Mom & April ( the TV buff) since the 1st round was all about slogans. We tied for 1st in the first round, but were crappy in round two. We may have placed 3rd for the night. It was their first time there, and they liked it.
Next week is 80's music... Woo Hoo ! Today's duck count was 3, and I'm going to create a duck pie.

Hump Day

Not much news today. Did Laundry and laundry, and more laundry. .
Met with the folks at the Acadian Village for the low-down on my role in the haunted village.
The Haunted Village runs Friday Oct 20, and 21st. I am the first face they see. Scary thought eh?
Gave Roland a pedicure. He's not flexible enough to cut his own nails easily.
Used that vibrating cuticle remover that drives him crazy, had it on high, just to torture a bit. Ha Ha... the witch in me is starting to come out. Hee Hee Hee!

Terrific Tuesday

I had a revelation today.... about the end of mankind. It's not going to be warfare, or floods, or fires. I think the world is gonna be taken over by spiders.!! Have you noticed the size of them lately ? Some are big enough to put on a cracker! In a few more years, they'll be ruling the world.

Roland got two ducks today and we had duck stirfry for supper. Yummy !

One of the cutest things I heard lately came from my sister April, after I told her how late I slept in on Sunday (8:20). She said " people who sleep like a baby, have none."

Do I sense some jealousy there? or was she just plain tired from being up at 5am?

La vie chez les LeBlancs

Thanksgiving Day....& lots to give thanks for. that's for sure. Had dinner at Mom's yesterday, my sis-in-law married on Saturday. Today I went to work, since it was payroll. Tomorrow I am feeding 11 residents at my house. Should be fun ! Roland went duck hunting today. 0 ducks and 100 mosquitoes was the report. Here I was looking forward to a duck stirfry ! Maybe tomorrow. All the boys in bed early, school tomorrow. Emile wants that $ 3.50 cheeze whiz sandwich. Jules says its gross and that the cheeze whiz comes from Shelburne. Who am I to argue? I got my dress for the haunted village, thanks to Diane and her Halloween Outfitters Business. Here's a pic from the wedding Saturday... Em, Angele & Jules
