Ah, Pay Me you say

A game tonight, I won #1, and the newfie surprisingly got away with #2. You know, we are all getting old.

There was zero concentration by most, for most of the night, yet the one concentrating the least, had a good score.

Some of us can't add... half of 69 is 33.5...??

And some of us can't remember.... "Amber Rose, real good fruity wine."... Hmm... do you mean Arbor Mist?

Some can't speak.. a twosome with three people.

Some read their horoscopes, and take it seriously ($$$).

Some have plans for surgery with lottery winnings... male surgery..lol.

Some have 0 patience for guitar playing on an out of tune guitar.

Some need to be reminded to play.

Some think window screens are strictly a woman territory.

Till next rainy night...

August ....

Been a busy 10 days thus far. LD was home and finished our renovations, which look just great.

Had a surprize birthday party for the Sailor. It went off without a hitch. The invitees were great, and even provided us with some great entertainment on the piano and guitar. Best part was seeing the sailor so pleasantly surprized. He and the Mrs. arrived casually, with a bottle of champagne to celebrate his day, and a gift for me. Thanks so much Mrs. L. "The Road to a Friend's House is Never Long".

We took in the fireworks on Friday with the sailor and Mrs. L. And on Sat we attended the Bon Voyage party for them and the Tip Toes. We'll keep in touch during their voyage, and wish them a wonderful time. It's going to be an exciting adventure indeed. You only live once, as they say. Go for it.

We were kidless for almost 20 hours. It was really weird. We wasted no time taking advantage of our "Home Alone" situation, and well, the other 19 hours eventually passed. Ha Ha.. At meal time, it was very strangest feeling of all. Just the two of us at the table. No one got up to go the the fridge, burped, or got scolded for balancing his chair on the back legs. Must be similar to the empty nest syndrome....

Best Political Jokes this week

"Barack Obama gave a speech in Germany and 200,000 people showed up. There were so many Germans shouting and screaming that France surrendered just in case." --Craig Ferguson

"Yesterday, President Bush announced there are going to be some big changes in intelligence in the White House. Yeah, he's leaving." --Jay Leno

"The Olympics start the Friday after next. For some reason, they're having them in Beijing, and the government right now is very hard at work trying to cover up all the horrible things they do in that country every day. It's like when your mom comes to visit your dorm." --Jimmy Kimmel

Mamma Mia

Saw Mamma Mia tonight. Was an awesome musical, with beautiful scenery. Good chic flick, of good times had by girls & women when we all get together. Saw myself in some of the scenes, jumping on a bed & singing Dancing Queen in a hairbrush or cue stick, etc, and in Cuba at the disco. Leaves you wanting more.

Buzzzzzz

I heard a few mention that since the price of gas skyrocketed, the cars on the highway seem to be moving slower. Now, tonight, when the mosquitoes are simply horrific, I wonder if its the gas prices, or mosquitoes slowing the traffic down. I read something of interest....

"Can a mosquito slow down a car?
According to Newton's Law of Motion, when a car going 60 miles per hour in one direction gets hit by a mosquito going one mile per hour in the opposite direction, the car will slow down one-millionth of a mile per hour." All too cute eh?

~~How fast can a mosquito fly?Approximately 1 to 1.5 miles per hour.

How far do some mosquitoes fly?Salt Marsh mosquitoes migrate 75 to 100 miles.

How much does a mosquito weigh?About 2 to 2.5 milligrams.

How much blood does a mosquito drink per bite?About 5 millionths of a liter. ~~

So, just who gets hired to do this kind of research? And who pays them? What do they do?... tag a mosquito to see where it travels?.... a very small leg band indeed.
Here's something that would drive me nuts... you can download a mosquito ringtone for your cellphone. Ya, watch me.

Happiness is...

a hammock, a blanket, and a purring cat.
