The Corvette Song ... George Jones

Keeping with the corvette theme in Avery's life, today's song is a 1985 George Jones song.
At first I didn't think I had heard it... but I sure did remember it !
In the song, the singer and his girlfriend are out for a leisure drive (in the singer's Corvette) when the singer stops at a convenience store to purchase beer and cigarettes. As the singer pays for his merchandise, the store clerk, supposedly noticing the singer's Corvette parked outside, tells the singer how he had one just like her a long time ago (in 1963) and was taken away from him by "the man down at the bank". Thinking the clerk is talking about his car, the singer offers him his keys and asks the clerk to "take her for a spin". Clarifying the singer's misinterpretation, the clerk informs the singer that it's not the car he is talking about, but the singer's girlfriend, who is waiting out in the car.

BINGO Report

I met the man with the suspenders this morning ( and I don't think he was wearing suspenders. Maybe they were in the wash) and he asked about the Bingo Report. Yes, I have been on vacation this week and very slack.
Well here it is !

It was a hot summer night, and the players were warm too ! At the canteen I told Mme C that a slushie would be good. They don't sell slushies, and like the Bingo caller said, they are  a waste of money. Ice and flavoring. Anyway it was warm indeed. Mme C told me she read the newspaper article about my business, and she's moving in in 20 years, when she turns 90. Haha ! Wink ! Wink !

Mom came along to play, as her horoscope said she was going to win. And she did.
I wonder what little Miss Surette's horoscope said as she had a pocketful ! Good for her !!
I won nothing, but gained an appreciation for Root Beer.

Slow Cooker Roast beef

Today I had a roast beef in the slow cooker for 8 hours on low.
It was delicious.
A can of cream of  mushroom soup.
A can of sliced mushrooms.
A package of onion soup mix, and a sprinkle of roasted garlic. ( I really wanted the Lipton envelope of Onion Soup Mix with Roasted Garlic. I understand it's a new product. But there was none at the local store )
Mixed it all together, rolled the roast in it, and put the cover on.
After it was done I sliced it up, and kept it warm in the oven, as I thickened the gravy. Amazing how much gravy it did make on it's own.
I could have done without thickening it, but the men in the family like a good gravy.
And good it was !

Teet's Relish

I made Teet's Relish today, and pickled beets as well.
Teet's Relish is delicious, and definitely a recipe to keep.

8 cups cucumbers ( about 7 large cukes)
4 cups onions ( about 4 large onions)
3 carrots
Chopped the veggies with a food processor, then add 2 quarts (8 cups) of cold water and some ice cubes. Sprinkle 1/4 cup salt over the top and let stand overnight.

Next morning day the water.
In a large pot put the vegetables to heat, along with
1 quart vinegar (4 cups)
7 cups of sugar
2 Tbsps. mustard seed
1 tbsp. celery seed
1 tbsp. turmeric
Simmer for an hour and a half.
Mix well 1 cup flour into about 2 cups water.
Add to the pot to thicken, and simmer another 30 minutes.
Bottle.

I confess... I didn't do the overnight thing. Only did 3 hours. No big crime, you'd never know the difference.

Where the Heck was Rebecca?

Last week Rebecca was in the front yard of Marie and Yvon Surette.
I totally forgot about the Where the Heck yesterday.

Testicle eating fish .... Pacu

~~Men in Sweden have been warned to be careful after a 21-cm wild pacu was caught this month by amateur fisherman in the Öresund channel that separates Sweden from Denmark
The Pacu fish is nicknamed the ‘ball cutter’, because of its tendency to attack male genitalia.
The Danish National History Museum has also warned that there is a possibility more of the fearsome, sharp-toothed fish could be swimming in the waters between the Scandinavian countries.
The pacu, closely related to the piranha, can reach up to 90cm in length and weigh as much as 25kg. South American fisherman who have been attacked by the creature are said to have bled to death after the fish gobbled up their testicles.~~

Glad I'm safe !

The North Star

The White Chicks were over, and made a great campfire, entertained us, and star gazed. They wondered what facts there were to be learned about the North Star....

Well it's not really the brightest star in the sky... it's like, the 50th brightest.
But it is North, and you can depend on that.
Polaris wasn't always the north star, and it will get a replacement in the future.
Around 4000 AD "Errai" will be it.
Find the North Star using the pointer sisters Merak and Dubhe, and extend your arm and make a fist. Errai lies about a fists' width beyond Polaris.

Wedgeport Tuna Festival 2013

And the winners were "The Vernon P" crew, (Captain Kenny d'Entremont) with a 674 pound Bluefin Tuna.

I was aboard the Vernon P on Saturday evening, and must say the celebration was outstanding. I even drank champagne from the golden cup trophy ( after about 25 set of lips). I, afraid of germs, obviously already had something to drink !
Stubborn Surette and I bummed a few cold beers, shook around our little behinds, and had a wonderful time. The music was superb, people were more than friendly, and the mood was definitely a celebratory one.

My conscience thanks God that my ride was leaving at 11pm.
I entertained my Dad on the way home :)
He loved it.

Florida Sex Laws / Jellyfish

Yes, Johnny Be Good, I didn't forget.
There are very strange laws in Florida when it comes to sex.
First of all, oral sex is illegal.
Missionary position is actually the only position that is legal.
And it's also illegal to kiss your wife's breasts.

Kamasutra. The Jellyfish.Being a mariner, I suggest you try a sex position called the jellyfish.
The jellyfish is really a Kamasutra love position.
When performing the Jellyfish, you will spend most of your time doing a grinding motion, back and forth onto each other, while inside of her. That's where the name comes from, referring to the smooth rippling motion.
She is in charge.
Although you may want to try it, please know that most don't really like it.
The favorite and most common position on our planet is the missionary, and lucky for you,  it's legal !!

Yes, it is Monday

I just haven't had the time yet to get my Monday sexual post up, and my little review of my Saturday visit to the Tuna festivities in Wedgeport.

What I did have time for, was the listen to a song by Billy Currington. A song suggested to me a friend as we shared a beer and we were crazy. God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy.

A very lighthearted song. It reminded me of Bahamas, and being there with my mom when I was 31. Saddled up to a bar, and running up a tab. Talking, laughing, and clinking bottles with  two men from Germany, one with war wounds on his chest, and the other with an "escort" from California named Marilyn on his arm. I sang karaoke, we solved world issues, and we had laughs way past closing time. Promised to be in touch, and never did. Left without paying our bar tab.

The Sweetest Thing... Juice Newton

This Saturday Song is brought to you by me !

Caramel Sauce

Amazing Caramel Sauce

Alright everyone, this recipe is too good to keep to myself!
I love a tablespoon of this added to my coffee and nothing more,
or on ice cream, or for dipping apples, the possibliites are endless!
Anyone can make this, and if you are having difficulites send me a
message and I'll help you!!
Recipe yields 1 1/2 cups (although I usually double it but its just
as easy to only make a half batch)

1 cup packed brown suger (I use light brown or golden)
1/2 cup heavy cream
4 tablespoons butter
Pinch of sea salt
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Melt butter in pot, mix in brown sugar, cream and salt.
Cook over medium-low heat and whisk gently
for about 7 minutes or longer if you doubled.
I remove the pot from the heat, add vanilla and return to
cook for another minute or so to thicken a bit more.
Take it off the stove and pour into a jar then pop it into the
fridge and VOILA you're done!

Shallow Vagina

Is there such a thing? Well like penis lengths, vaginas also vary in lenght.
The normal length of a vagina is only 3 to 4 inches, when we are not aroused. ( from opening to tip of cervix)
But when we get excited, and wet, the top two thirds of our vagina lengthens, as our uterus, and cervix moves a bit higher. It's pretty cool when you think of it.
Usually it will double in length, and can accommodate a giant size penis, if you are lucky enough to find one. (The width is never a problem for vaginas, as our walls are like those thick skinned pleated balloons)
Back to the shallow vagina ..   well it doesn't really exist ?
Mah, not really.
The cervix lies lower at certain times of the month, making your vagina shallower.
And if you aren't as excited and lubricated as you could be, your vagina may be shallower.
If you still think your vagina is shallow, and it's going to be a problem; find yourself a man with a shallow penis.
There's all kinds around.

Something good for supper

Yup, I had something good for supper.
I had forgotten that I used to marinade boneless chicken breasts in Italian dressing and grill them on the BBQ, for a grilled chicken sandwich.
I made the salad and Loverboy did the BBQing.
It was so good !!

Simon Belliveau

He's my Godfather, and he has been a great one. And he looks super for 84. Hasn't changed a bit !
My first beer every drank was stolen from his supply about 30 years ago. It was 10 penny beer. No wonder I don't like beer !
He, like I, enjoy a good cup of tea. He would always tease me whenever I would get a red rose tea bag and plug in the kettle. " Bring your own tea bag next time !', he would joke.
One year I bought him a large box of Red Rose Tea for Christmas.
Wrapped it all up with a bow.
He said it was the best gift he received !

The Brooklyn Bridge

The Brooklyn Bridge opened - May 24,1883, 2:00 PM
There was a protest as Irish workers were dissatisfied that Opening Day coincided with Queen Victoria's birthday.
Initial Bridge Toll - 1 cent on Opening Day, 24 May, 1883, and 3 cents thereafter

People crossing the bridge on opening day - 150,300
Bridge opened to vehicles - May 24, 1883, 5:00 p.m.
Total number of vehicles crossed on the first day - 1,800
Vehicles charge on Opening Day - 5 cents

It was the first long-span suspension bridge to carry motor vehicles, and the first suspension bridge to use galvanized steel wire.
It was first called the “New York and Brooklyn Bridge.” It wasn’t until 1915 that the bridge formally came to be known as just Brooklyn Bridge.
It has a pedestrian and bike walkway.

My nephew proposed to his fiancée on the Brooklyn Bridge on Sunday.

In Europe, especially Paris and Rome,  love-locks, locks inscribed by couples and attached to bridges, are very popular. More and more love locks are apprearing in New York with hundreds taking over Brooklyn Bridge.

They are basic, every-day padlocks inscribed or doodled on with dates and initials of the couple, who are then supposed to throw their key in the water as a public statement of their 'everlasting love'.

MIle Long Yard Sale 2013

The ever popular mile long yard sale in Pubnico is set for the 3rd weekend in September

and
Vernon's yard sale is Saturday, Sept 7th

The BINGO report

Well Mrs Boing and niece had all the luck tonight.
We just sat there looking good, and in need of a perm.
We were set by golly, and even "set a deux". It's a new term Mrs HH introduced tonight.
It's a shade worse than being set.
La Veille was all confused, and her need of vacation was showing. She even talked of sledding in the summer.
As always, it was good therapy.

Fans to beat the heat

Fans are a great way to beat the heat in the summer.
According to NS Power a ceiling fan costs about 15 cents a day to run, and a portable fan costs about 20 cents.

Morning Sex

Upon hearing that her elderly grandfather had just passed away, Katie went straight to her grandparent's house to visit her 95 year-old grandmother and comfort her. When she asked how her grandfather had died, her grandmother replied, "He had a heart attack while we were making love on Sunday morning." Horrified, Katie told her grandmother that 2 people nearly 100 years old having sex would surely be asking for trouble.
"Oh no, my dear," replied granny. "Many years ago, realizing our advanced age, we figured out the best time to do it was when the church bells would start to ring. It was just the right rhythm. Nice and slow and even. Nothing too strenuous, simply in on the Ding and out on the Dong." She paused to wipe away a tear, and continued, "He'd still be alive if the ice cream truck hadn't come along."

Minor hockey registration for 2013-2014 season
The Yarmouth Minor Hockey Association is holding two nights of registrations in August for the upcoming 2013-2014 minor hockey season. Dates are August 19 and August 21.
While the registrations are for everyone – rep and house – the minor hockey association especially wants players who will be going to rep tryouts in September (tryout dates to be announced later) to register in these early registration sessions so the minor hockey association has a sense of how many players to expect at tryouts.

• Monday, August 19
• Wednesday, August 21

The following are the registration rates for the upcoming minor hockey season. Note, the differences in registration costs reflect the different costs of referees needed to officiate games in the respective levels.
• Initiation (Timbits) $240 + $100
• Novice $280 + $100
• Atom $280 + $100
• Peewee $290 + $100
• Bantam $300 + $100
• Midget $310 + $100
• Family rate $850 + $100 (three or more players)
There will also be registrations accepted at Yarmouth Recreation, but only commencing at a later date that is yet to be determined

Sex and Fasting

Experts claim that you should not have sex if you are fasting.
Unless it's only a short 1-3 day fast, even though sex will make you hungrier, it should really not harm you. The pelvic thrusting may actually help the intestines to clear the accumulated material from your system.
If you are planning on a longer fast, over three days, it is best to abstain from sex. The energy drain may get too rough, especially for a man.

If you are a woman and really can't abstain, follow these guidelines.
Figure out if sex energizes you, or drains you.
If you feel drained afterwards, then forget it. No sex for you.
If you are a man, they claim ejaculation is draining for a man.
No sex for you if you are fasting and if you must have sex, do not ejaculate.

I am not worried about fasting, and sex, and it's affect on our sex life.

Love has No Pride

I always loved the clip from Little Rascals where the friends are sad after an argument.
 I especially love the song.
Watch it here.

Listen to Linda Ronstadt's full version here

I've had bad dreams too many times
To think that they don't mean much anymore
And fine times have gone and left my sad home
And the friends who once cared just walk out my door
