Movember's No Shavin' Cajuns

My nephew " Smartie Pants" was part of a Movember team.
They were called the "No Shavin' Cajuns".

A few short but funny Mrs Brown clips

Language may offend. Mature audience.

Mrs Brown ...  on missing sex

Mrs Brown on her first pregnancy

Mrs Brown ...  psychic experience

Black Superman ... Johnny Wakelin and the Kinsasha Band

Wow ! I loved this song and still do !
Muhammad Ali !
When he retired in 1981, his win/loss record was 56-5, and 37 wins by KO.
He was 39 when he quit.
He was born in Louisville Kentucky, and early in his career, "Cassius Clay" was called the Louisville Lip.
I hadn't heard it in awhile.
The best Saturday song yet !

    Advil sample

I love the Advil samples. They always come and are super for your purse or car.
    Get a sample here.

    Holy Toledo !

And why do we say that?
I know we use it when exclaiming something is truly incroyable !

I read all sorts of explanations...
    • Toledo was Jesus' neighbor back in the day and  there was a time when Toledo was thought to be the savior that everybody was looking for . Thus " Holy Toledo".
    •  Some think it refers to a sarcastic remark about Toledo, Ohio. ( As I read that Toledo was once sort of a safe place for mobsters.)
    • Others think it stems from the Holy city of Toledo, Spain
    • some even think it comes from Batman & Robin.  Holy Toledo Batman !
    What do you think ?

    I love Beaker !

    Omg this is so true!!!!!

    SIgns from deceased loved ones:

The signs our loved ones give us most often are:
They come through as an animal. Our loved ones are able to use their energy to go inside of an animal, such as a butterfly, ladybug, bird, or dragonfly - for a brief period of time. The animal does something it usually would not do, such as land on us, peck at our window, scream at us, etc.

They place common objects such as feathers, coins, or rocks in our path. Our loved ones like to place things over and over again in our path that were significant to them.

They give off fragrances. We can often tell our deceased loved ones are around us when we smell their perfume, flowers, cigar or cigarette smoke, or any other familiar smell they had. There is usually no logical explanation of why the smell is there.

They make songs come on at the perfect time. We know they are around when their favorite songs come on at the right time with the exact words we need to hear.

They come to us in dreams. One of the easiest ways for them to come through to us is in our dreams. All we need to do is to ask them to come, and they will. However, we should ask them to wake us up after they come, or else we will not remember the dream. A dream that is a true visitation will be very peaceful and we will know it is truly our loved one. We will remember this type of dream in detail many years later.

They allow us to feel peaceful for no reason. When our loved ones are in the room, they usually make us feel so loved and at peace. It usually happens at the most unsuspecting time, so there is no logical explanation for our sudden bliss.

They place thoughts in our head. Because they in spirit form, our loved ones don't have an audible voice. Therefore, they give us messages telepathically. Pay attention to thoughts that just "pop" into your head.

They love to play with electricity. They turn electricity on and off. They like to flicker lights, turn the television and radio on and off, and make appliances beep for no apparent reason.

They make buzzing noises in our ears. Because our loved ones speak to us on a different, higher frequency, we may hear ringing in our ears when they are trying to get our attention. This is a sign telling you to listen to what they are saying. "

Enviro Depot in Yarmouth has moved

I noticed the sign today...  so if you are headed to Yarmouth to drop off refundables, or old electronics, they are no longer at the Cotton Mill.

They are just before the Home Hardware (old MT&T building), across from the Quick's  ice cream place.

La Shoppe a Carl a Wedgeport

Yep, Wedgeport now also has a Shoppe a Carl.

    Did you know ?

Jamie Oliver's Scrumptious Seafood Pie ( a Compliments product sold at Sobeys ) has haddock in it, that comes from our very own Inshore Fisheries.  Congrats to Inshore !

"This pie is loaded with MSC certified sustainable smoked Canadian sockeye salmon, shrimp and haddock, swimming in a creamy béchamel sauce full of spinach and shallots, and topped with wickedly creamy mash. Sold frozen.
Jamie’s Tip: “This classic dish doesn't need much, but a crunchy green salad always works a treat, or even a spoonful of baked beans if that’s what you fancy. If you like the pie top even crispier, scatter some breadcrumbs and a drizzle of oil over the top before baking.”

I have heard and have read, that it is good.

    Snowballing

Snowballing...  has nothing to do with the weather and the snow we received.
On Mondays, the term snowballing means to collect in your mouth, and pass on to another, semen.
It used to be believed that only homosexuals "snowballed", but I guess it's not so.

I also read that most men don't want to snowball. They just aren't comfortable with it.
If you keep passing it on back and forth, the load (pardon the pun) will get bigger as it mixes with salivas; thus earning the name snowballing.

Have a great breakfast everyone !

    Les Hits des Septantes

BE SURE TO TUNE IN TO CIFA 104,1 FM SUNDAY EVENING WHERE AVERY WILL BE FEATURING THE TOP 20 SONGS FROM YEAR ENDING 1977 !!!!!

1977...  I was 14. I do remember plenty songs from that time. I liked Alice Cooper and Leo Sayer, to mention just a couple.

    11*12*13

Yes, it was on this date, a few days ago, that I turned 50 !

My sis bought me a different gift.
A gift box of Candy from the 1970's. Great gift idea.

I have been admiring it mostly, but tonight I opened up the Lik-a-stix or Fun Dip as it was called, and it tasted just like I remembered. The stick is actually better than the "dip" part.

I also indulged in a pixy stixs. Nothing worse than a bend in your pixy stik, or a wet tip.

There were no bottle caps in the gift box, but I sure do remember them. I liked the cola and root beer flavors.

    Ignore your partner
    Offer constructive criticism
Check the time ( I have done that before; haven't we all. Just a quick glance...)

Chez Pierre ce soir .... Canard sauvage au jus

Pierre got this recipe from some you tube site in Arkansas or somewhere like that.
Stuffing for 2 ducks: chop up one apple, one onion, one sprig of celery, sauté with about a tablespoon of butter for 20 minutes or so, put aside.
Season inside of said ducky with your favourite stuff. I used garlic powder, sage, thyme, and a bit of black pepper. I put the same stuff on the outside of the duck too.
Stuff the ducks with the stuffing, in a roasting pan (size of one that would just accommodate the ducks), I put about a half cup of red wine, 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar, and a bit of soy sauce in the pan.
Cover with foil , temp is 425F, after about 20 minutes, remove foil , then roast for another 10 min of so. Don't overcook, as it absolutely ruins wild meat, which is fairly sterile so you don't have to worry about E Coli and other noxious stuff.

(Just) An old fashion love song... Three Dog Night

Three Dog Night is an American rock band, best known for their music recorded between 1968 and 1975. vocalist Danny Hutton's then-girlfriend June Fairchild suggested the name after reading an article about indigenous Australians, in which it was explained that on cold nights they would customarily sleep in a hole in the ground whilst embracing a dingo, a native species of wild dog. On colder nights they would sleep with two dogs and if the night were freezing, it was a "three dog night.

How to take a good nap

I like a little nap, when I need it. But I often wonder why sometimes the nap can leave you feeling worse. Here's what I discovered....

Keep it short. The 10 to 20 minute nap is the best to refuel. You will awaken A-OK.
Longer than 30 minute naps can lead to sleep inertia — the post-sleep grogginess and hangover feeling. It takes usually about 20 minutes to shake it off.
If you nap for 60 minutes, you'll feel the grogginess, but your memory will be better, especially when it comes to names, words, and faces.
Sleep 90 minutes, and it's considered a full cycle of sleep... (all the REM stages included, and the lighter and deeper sleep) You shouldn't feel groggy.

A small Japanese study published found that drinking a caffeinated beverage and then taking a short nap immediately afterward is the most restful combination . The sleep occurs just before the caffeine takes effect. So have that caffeinated drink, and have a 20-30 minute nap soon after. You'll awaken feeling great.

    Apple Cider

Did you know that in Rome, the 14th century, many babies were baptised with apple cider, as it was much cleaner than the water supply.

    Vasectomies

42% of us are the product of unintended pregnancies.
I watched a documentary of a doctor offering free vasectomies and offering each man $20 to have it done.

No needle or scalpel. Just a small hole punctures, and the vas pulled through, and the vasectomy done.

This doc felt that vasectomies are a win, win & win .... for people, society and nature.

In Haiti, the biggest mortality in women 15 to 35, is childbirth.
The government there thought it was wrong to offer the men $20.
So they offered no money as an incentive.
Sadly they performed only three vasectomies the first day.

He travelled to Philippines to preform free vasectomies..... and offering $20 to them as they leave.

Mayor made them pull down their ads, as it was against catholic religion. But
in reality the government and tax payers can not support the 5 children per woman that they are producing.
When they approached the religious church, they told them there was no such thing as overpopulation. The doctor asked " Is there a country, that is growing in numbers like crazy, and also prospering like crazy ? Hmm... good point.  No, there is none.

The doc argued that "Natural family planning", or abstaining from sex, when she ovulates and wants it's the most, is also not natural.

    But m
any men are afraid to lose their libido, and their endurance.
    Some men think it`s a women's responsibility.
So they educated the men on the streets, and finally offered them the money.
    They came.
Some men had up to 7 kids, one man had 26 !

In one day, they performed more vasectomies in than are performed in Haiti in an entire year.

Bless Me Father, for I have sinned...

'Bless me Father, for I have sinned. I have been with a loose girl.' The priest asks, 'Is that you, little Joey Pagano?' 'Yes, Father, it is.' 'And who was the girl you were with?' 'I can't tell you, Father, I don't want to ruin her reputation.' "Well, Joey, I'm sure to find out her name sooner or later so you may as well tell me now. Was it Tina Minetti?" 'I cannot say.' 'Was it Teresa Mazzarelli?' 'I'll never tell.' 'Was it Nina Capelli?' 'I'm sorry, but I cannot name her.' 'Was it Cathy Piriano?' 'My lips are sealed Father.' 'Well then, was it Rosa DiAngelo?' 'Please, Father, I cannot tell you.'

The priest sighs in frustration. 'You're very tight lipped, and I admire that. But you've sinned and have to atone. You cannot be an altar boy now for 4 months. Now you go and behave yourself.' Joey walks back to his pew, and his friend Franco slides over and whispers, 'What'd you get?' 'Four month's vacation and five excellent Leads.'

    DeLatour Co-op

Co-op has new Co-op Gold Napkins.
I bought a package today, and they are very nice, thick, and a little design quilted in them.

And I always buy my tea lights from the co-op. Each tea light is quite deep, burns bright, and last 5 hours. They are hanging right across the canned tuna.

And there is a Co-op meeting tomorrow night (Monday). They are giving away 5 one hundred dollar gift certificates. You must be present to be in the draw.

    Yellowstone National Park

Map showing Yellowstone in northwest corner of Wyoming

Although it appears to be totally in Wyoming, it does extend a bit into Idaho, and Montana.
Yellowstone National Park was the first national park, dedicated in 1872.
The park features more than 500 distinguished geysers, including the famous "Old faithful", which erupts about every 91 minutes.
Yellowstone National Park featured the very first bison preserve, helping to bring this mammal back from the brink of extinction.

The warm season lasts from June 20 to September 7 with an average daily high temperature above 17°C. The hottest day of the year is July 18, with an average high of 23°C and low of 5°C. The cold season lasts from November 17 to March 10 with an average daily high temperature below -0°C. The coldest day of the year is February 11, with an average low of -18°C and high of -5°C.

    Slow cooker caramel sauce

Place sweetened condensed milk into mason jars.
Place jars in the slow cooker, and cover completely with water.
Make sure the water level remains above the jar lids.
Cook on low for 8 hours.
    It becomes caramel.
Let cool completely at room temperature.
    Store in the fridge.
Great with apples, and ice cream.
