10 digit dialing !

Starting August 23, 2014, business and residential consumers in the 902 region will have to adopt 10-digit dialing – the area code followed by the phone number – for all local communications. This dialing method has been successfully implemented in several regions in Canada.
The introduction of 10-digit dialing is the result of a decision by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) and will pave the way for the addition of a new area code, 782, starting on November 30, 2014, as the 902 area code reaches capacity.

Advice for eating out with kids

  • Infants are the best. Enjoy the restaurants as much as you can, and bring that sleepy infant with you, because
  • toddlers are like the devil in disguise. They might be cute, but they shriek, spill, grab and can't sit still.
  • Bring snacks
  • Know where you are going. Don't pick a quiet, slow paced restaurant if he's busy and energetic.
  • Travel light. Leave the bulky stroller behind, and travel with less as possible. Makes it easy to...
  • leave if you have to.
And I do recall going to the Red Cap with my father Jules, and son #2.
He had ants in his pants and really wanted to visit the kitchen.
He was loud, tossing utensils, and I was annoyed, and just walked out . I left my dessert there to pack up, tossed money on the table, and in one swift motion, we were out !

In the parking lot , I waited for my father .  He had one thing to say...
" the next time we come, he'll be old enough to pay".

Dinner Rolls

I have been seeing recipes for dinner rolls on facebook, and have decided to try some. I didn't go with that recipe, as I wanted one that used just one packet of yeast. Those quick rolls have a lot of yeast (that's why they are quick) but they also sometimes taste very yeasty, to me.
So I found a recipe online, and modified it a bit.

In your kitchenaid mixer, combine 1.5 cups flour, one packet of yeast ( or a tablespoon), 3 tbsp. sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Blend it with a fork.

Add to this 2 tbsp. melted butter, and 3/4 cup of warm water.

I put on the dough hook on the KitchenAid, and put it on stir for 2 minutes.
Then I added 3/4 cups flour, and put it on stir to knead the dough for a 3 minutes.

Then I let the dough rest for 10 minutes ( I actually placed it in another bowl and put it in the oven on the proof setting)

The recipe said to roll out and cut on a floured surface. But I decided to make little rolls in the greased cupcake tin. I divided by dough in 2, then into 4, and decided this would only make 8 rolls.
The dough was not sticky at all, and I greased my hands to handle it and make the rolls.

I let it rise in my oven for 35 minutes. I hardly thought they had doubled in size. So I baked them without preheating. Put the oven on 375 and baked them until they were done.. 10 to 14 minutes.

They were very tasty, and nice and soft. A little too sweet for me.

I read that this recipes makes a great hotdog roll, and that's my next snowy day plan.

Great joke !

Shortly before her 4th marriage, a middle-aged woman went to see her doctor for advice on sex. Amazed, the doctor said, "You've been married 3 times, surely you know what to do by now."
The woman said, "Let me explain:
My 1st husband was a gynaecologist & all he wanted to do was look at it;
my 2nd husband was a psychiatrist & all he wanted to do was talk about it:
my 3rd husband worked for the post office & he couldn't find it:
now I'm getting married to a lawyer so I'm bound to get screwed sometime."

Order yours today

Wanted to make one of these since the first time I saw it on Pinterest. Finally did it!

Contact Kat for more info, not I , as she may likely kill me when she sees this.

Penises you'll meet in a lifetime, and remember

  1.  The crooked and/or leaning dick.  Sex with a crooked or Leaning Tower of Penis can be great as it may be able to hit spots other penises could only dream of reaching. Yes, you will remember it, and sex experts say should not judge it until you try it.
  2. The Pencil Penis :   some man’s too-slim-to-be-true penis. A bit like a "lite-day" tampon.
  3. The penis wearing a hoodie:  The uncircumcised penis is more and more popular, and you should be proud of it.  It may look little funny and wrinkly at first, but after some foreplay, he stands proud. Best of all, that extra skin creates more friction, which feels better for you. Viva la hoodie!
  4. The short, & fat: At least this stocky penis will be easier to feel than the pencil-thin one.
  5. The sensitive penis: just once glance gets him erect, and in a second, it's all over.
  6. The bicycle pump penis:  is very big, and has you wondering just what you are going to do with it.
  7. The unmemorable penis:  you saw it, maybe even held it....  but to be honest, you can't really remember anything spectacular about it.
  8. The practically perfect penis:  liked everything about it. It was beautiful piece of work. Of course, we all have different taste.

Canned Meatballs

To make a long story short ..  one day two of my friends realized they had something special in common. They both loved can meatballs ! Fraser Farm ones. They were excited to learn they both ate them with mashed potatoes (on top of the potatoes) and they ate one cold before heating them, and they mash them... and all that yucky stuff. It was like they had started a support group ! Finally someone to confide in !
Then yet another friend admitted to loving the flavour !
So tonight set my table with my china, crystal and candlelight and served up a meal of canned meatballs for them.
I have to admit to actually feeling a bit embarrassed to go through cash, and buy 6 cans ( on sale at co-op for $1).
Afterwards, while doing dishes, they were still into them... eating them cold, dipping bread in the gravy.
I sent them home with "doggie bags".

My husband was mortified when he asked what we were cooking for the company I invited.
"And who do you think is going to eat canned meatballs ?" he exclaimed.
Now he knows.
Bon appetit !

Boobs, bras, and gravity

On Steven and Chris this morning, they had a bra lady telling viewers that breasts need to go braless to stay firm.
No it won't make them sag.
Braless breasts actually "work" muscles that support them , and ladies who go braless have less saggy breasts than those who keep them supported.
Interesting topic....
any comments?

Tips for the "saving for the 52 week" plan

Earlier this month I posted a chart whereas you put away a dollar the first week, $2, the second... etc... all the way to $52 in the 52nd week of the year.
This is to easily save up $1378.
The older post is here.

I ran into a blog reader who is doing this.
I told her I was as well, using my online banking, and scheduling the money go from one account to the another automatically.
She had her own great idea and shed some light on the chart.
She printed, or wrote down the weekly number chart, and every week, depending on what she can do, she chooses what weekly amount she wants to pay.
Made sense, especially when she pointed out that the bigger amounts are in December, and that's when there is holiday spending and less cash flow.
She plans to do the larger deposits on weeks when the household brings in the most money, or when tax refunds come.  The smaller amounts, she will do in December.
Smart idea !!

"Someday Soon" ... Judy Collins

"Someday Soon" is a song composed by Canadian singer/song-writer Ian Tyson. He recorded the song with his wife, Sylvia Tyson, as the duo Ian & Sylvia in 1964. Although this version was not released as a single, the song has been recorded by Judy Collins, Moe Bandy and Suzy Bogguss, all of whom had chart success with it. Collins's version was issued as a single to the pop format.
