Free Photo Retouch

day 14 of Make over your Morning

Yup ! The last day !
I tried to maximize my evenings and mornings.
I got the evening routine going great.
Makes life a bit easier in the morning.

I figured out that rather do more at night than add one chore in the morning.
I am more conscientious about getting good sleep
I am trying to stay away from electronics before bed, relaxing
I have been planning supper the night before, even peeled veggies twice
I have been picking out my clothes the night before
I make sure the kitchen is clean when I go to bed.
I wash a load of laundry

Mornings? Well I have been drinking a glass of cold water in the morning( not the best).
I have not exercised in the morning, nor moved my alarm back 15 minutes.
I have not figured out what I need for quality time in the morning ( not Monday to Friday anyway)

It was okay however... feeling more organized.

Day 13 of Make Over your morning

I had a busy day. Got up and drank my cold water. Left at 8, worked until it was time to golf, and came home after 9. I did get right into my routine once I got home. .... put the dishwasher on, laundry on, had a bath, decided what was is for tomorrow's supper, and picked out clothing for tomorrow.

Today course is about failing. It's okay to fail. Whew ! That's good news.
She must be sensing that I pressed snooze three times again.
The homework is to see if your routines or goals need to be tweaked.
Maybe the goal was unattainable.
Maybe something came up.
Maybe part of my system is crappy.
Maybe I am comparing routines with someone else and feel like a failure.
Nah.

I am not getting up any earlier. I don't desire that 1.5 to 2 hours to myself in the morning.
Just give me the 60 minutes or less, of a well organized morning; and no gratitude journal while having coffee, after having had my cold water.

The 10 commandments



In a movie I was watching, they mentioned the 10 commandments.
I didn't really know them all; especially the first ones.

Thou shalt not bear false witness; means you should not take part in spreading a lie.

Coveting means to desire something that isn't yours.

(The actual text reads : shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.)

Day 12 of the 14 day Make Over my morning course

Oh it's getting close to the end of the course.
This morning I drank cold water. I peeled vegetables and prepared my roast while looking at the cold tall glass of water.
I drank it, thinking it may be nauseating. I didn't get a jolt of energy from it, but it took less time to drink than a coffee would have. I decided not to have coffee until I went to my parents for a visit; so maybe I had more energy, or simply more time to kill.  I dunno. I will try again tomorrow.

Today's lesson is on decreasing the number of decisions we make a day.
5000 is the estimate of decisions we make EVERY DAY.  Five thousand ? Really ?
We suffer from decision fatigue.
So the homework is to create a system for two things that stress me. Using a system versus a decisions.
I chose

  • making a supper menu for the week ( I used to and it was easy to follow and great for the shopping list)
  • doing book work/paper clutter/things to read/mail . It drives me nuts. I always have plenty things I want to read, emails to reply, receipts to sort, bookwork, and mail. I should get a system for this. A couple hours a couple days a week really would do it. Sunday evening will be one, and maybe Wednesday after supper. I shall try it.

Clutter is a bummer

It turns out that clutter has a profound affect on our mood 

and self-esteem.

Especially if you are a female. It can be depressing.

There's a link between high cortisol (stress hormone) 

levels in female home owners

and a  great deal of household stuff.

Researchers in California say that it really only affects 

women. 

The men aren't really affected by the clutter.
